One of my favourite things about fall is all the menswear-inspired fashions. I am low-key obsessed with men’s clothes. You might think that’s weird considering I pretty much live in floral dresses and skirts, but there’s something about menswear that I just love. I can’t really explain it. And I don’t mean all menswear obviously, just like I prefer certain types of women’s clothes over others. I guess certain aspects of classic menswear is extremely appealing to me. The trouser look, oxford shoes, structured jackets….

And that’s not to say I want to look like a man. I don’t really think that’s the point of the menswear-inspired fall fashions. I mean, I love me some vintage pumps and dusty pinks, after all. Maybe it’s just another way that I like to play dress-up as an adult. Fashion is nothing if not transformative.

And yes, I am sporting one of my capes (I have more than one) because no dreamy autumn day is complete without a dash of whimsy.

xoxo
